Following the creation of the new NVQ level 2 qualifications in Structural Repair and Underpinning in 2009, ASUC members have been working hard to qualify their operatives.

Initially, in the year 2010/11, 32 operatives gained the qualification with the assistance of Construction Skills – National Specialist Accredited Centre.
In 2012 ASUC appointed Jeff Haggarty as its Training Advisor and a further 56 operatives have since qualified as NVQ level 2 in Structural Repairs and Underpinning.

The CITB has assisted in the production of the ASUC Training Area with funding support. The CITB aims to ensure that the construction industry has the right people, with the right skills, in the right place, at the right time and is equipped to meet the future skills demands of the industry
